Hyde Memorial State Park Summer Events

Looking for something to do? Take advantage of your local state parks! State parks in New Mexico have ongoing lectures, hikes and fun events. Here are some of the walks and talks for Hyde Memorial State Park, just a short drive from the Santa Fe Plaza.

Hyde Memorial Enchanted Evenings
Thursdays, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • 8/9/07- State Park Ranger Sarah Wood will give a presentation titled "The Call of the Wild, Animal Sounds in the Sangre de Cristos.
  • 8/16/07- Geologist Kirt Kempter will give a presentation on the Geology of the Valle Grande
  • 8/23/07- State Park Ranger Sara Wood will give a presentation titled "The Bear Facts"
  • 8/30/07- Tim and Evelyne Taylor will play live acoustic music.

    Hyde Memorial Coffee in the Park
    Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
    Join us for coffee, hot cocoa and hot apple cider. Chat with volunteers, rangers and fellow campers. Learn about the park and the surrounding area. Ask questions about places to see, hike and drive.

    Hyde Memorial Kids Program
    Sundays, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
    This event is for children and families. Led by a ranger or volunteer, hands-on activities or games teach about wildlife, plants or park history.

    Hyde Memorial Sunset Hike
    Friday nights, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
    This hike is about a 3/4-mile round trip and winds through the forest as darkness settles and wildlife prepares for the night.
